Matt Burks
P.E.
Mechanical Engineer
Matt Burks is a Mechanical Engineer at HFA with seven years of engineering experience. He leads the design of mechanical systems and produces construction documents used to guide installation and implementation. His responsibilities include performing load calculations, developing room ventilation schedules, coordinating across teams to confirm system selection, and modeling systems in Revit.
His project experience covers a range of healthcare and clinical environments such as Premier DermatologyClinic, larger scale efforts like ICU and Cath-Lab renovations at East Jefferson General Hospital, and a tower expansion at Mercy Fort Smith. These projects featured complex designs, integrating new infrastructure and equipment upgrades, energy recovery, and “pandemic mode” control operations into existing utility plant systems.
Matt’s path to engineering began in technical sales, where daily collaboration with engineers inspired a passion for solving technical challenges. With degrees in both psychology and mechanical engineering, he brings analytical insight and clear communication to every project.
