HFA Architecture + Engineering recently announced that effective immediately, Shane Hevelone, LEED AP BD+C, will serve as Vice President at HFA, supporting the firm’s Engineering Department.
Hevelone got his start at HFA in 2006 as an engineering lead supporting the firm’s largest retail client, managing a team of engineers for more than 15 years. While maintaining his support for his retail client, his new responsibilities will have him further developing key engineering services for clients, like Power Systems and Commissioning.
“Commissioning and Power Systems significantly impact building owners, operators, and employees. Advocating for and growing these services is about educating clients—helping them understand the value and giving them the tools and necessary training to ensure they’re getting what they paid for with every project,” says Hevelone
In recent years, he has concentrated on how technology and engineering services work together, specifically focusing on how Reality Capture and digital twin technology can enhance the work his team does in Power Systems. From modeling existing conditions to capturing asset data and tracking equipment life cycles, these tools open new possibilities for more accurate, data-driven decision-making. As these innovations mature, Hevelone is excited about the prospect of enterprises like HFA and others across the industry staying aligned with evolving client expectations and operational demands—continuing to exceed expectations with each successive project.

Over time, we’ve expanded that to include civil, structural, power systems, refrigeration, fire protection, and more. As we’ve grown, we’ve built on our strong architectural foundation and added these disciplines to provide a comprehensive solution for our clients. This approach not only provides them cost savings but also enhances communication, collaboration, and efficiency. Moving forward, I am excited for us to continue identifying new services and disciplines to grow further and improve our programming for the greater good of our clients.”
