Iron Mountain Hot Springs Hotel is set within the alpine landscape of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The design draws from the surrounding mountain context, combining natural materials with a contemporary architectural approach suited to the region. HFA is providing architectural and interior design services for the project, maintaining a consistent design direction throughout the design process.
The 17,400-square-foot hotel is characterized by deep overhangs, layered rooflines, and a composed façade that reflects regional architectural influences. Exterior and interior materials, including stone, wood, and earth-toned finishes, create a cohesive palette that grounds the building in its mountain setting.
At the core of the project is a central lobby designed to support gathering and guest amenities. The space integrates lounge seating, café and bar functions, and indoor-outdoor areas organized around a fireplace. Guest rooms are planned to provide efficient layouts and a balance of comfort and modern detailing.
